The beach

The beach of Tocha has been certified with the Blue Flag which stands for pure water conditions, clean coasts, high safety standards and good accessibility including long boardwalks over the beach, so its easily accessible for pushchairs, buggies and wheelchairs. Praia da Tocha is known for its clean water and the community initiates many projects in order to keep the environment clean, the beaches plastic-free and the surfers educated.

We join in with this great initiative by organising a weekly beach clean-up with the kids animation and interested guests to not only learn about the ocean environment, but also find some real Atlantic Coast treasure!

The beach is approximately 500m from the surf camp and can be reached within a few minutes. On spot there are cafés, restaurants and toilets.

You can use the surf equipment (wetsuits and surfboard) throughout your whole stay during and outside of the surf lessons. We are based on a beach with lifeguards, so you can be sure to be looked after while you’re enjoying yourself in the water.
